Sun on Firle

The Church, from the Park

From the Coach Road, looking to Firle Plantation

Not so many migrants around today as in last weekend’s rush, but at least ten Blackcaps singing between the village, Park, Beanstalk and the Plantation, with a couple of House Martins over the village, three or four Whitethroats, and Nuthatch, Jay, Long-tailed Tit and Great Spotted Woodpecker in the Plantation.

Earlier in the week, a couple more Willow Warblers sang unconvincingly from around the village (none seem to hang around here – though one at Bo Peep (Alciston) this morning was in a traditional summering spot).

Also, a Little Owl with its back to the sun on a wall along the Bostal Road last Tuesday.
