I’d thought another autumn might pass without seeing a Redstart in Firle, so I was pleased when Paul came over yesterday afternoon and said he had one in the paddock beside his garden – an adult male amongst the hawthorns, occasionally getting flack from a local Robin.

Paul had also had a couple of Spotted Flycatchers and Raven overhead.

Meanwhile not far away at Lords Burgh, SW of Bo Peep, Alan Kitson found another Redstart, two Whinchats and a Marsh Harrier with six Common Buzzards (per SOS)
