Cute interlude, part 2

Pheasant chick in the handBack in May, we had an evening’s entertainment attempting to hand feed a pheasant chick that had been caught toothlessly by a neighbour’s cat.

Having survived the night, it was taken to Middle Farm, where it was teamed up with a broody hen and a chick.

Well, I finally got around to enquiring after its fate, and I’m pleased to report that apparently it made it to the promised land – which for local pheasants means safely behind a fence.

Apparently it wasn’t the only pheasant to be rescued, and ‘they’ (plural) were rehomed as family pets in a large aviary.

Ah.
