Unseasonal Siskin

A Siskin heard over the garden yesterday.

An odd time of year for a record in Firle, but it fits with a couple of other sightings reported on the SOS website in recent days – are more of these birds breeding in the county?

Today, a big party of Long-tailed Tits came through the village, although unfortunately they failed to do the classic thing (whereby they fly across a gap in ones and twos) which allows an accurate count. At least 15 birds, probably more than 20.
