Belated news – a very windy early morning walk last Thursday at Bo Peep confirmed that Bramblings are still present in the coombe south of the car park. Although none were seen, at least a couple of birds were heard flying around the gorse, with plenty of Chaffinches and a few Linnets present too.
In the car park itself, a pair of Stonechats were poking about, while what was almost certainly a pair of Ravens flew through with the heavy stream of corvids.
Meanwhile at Beddingham on Weds evening, there was a Barn Owl perched on the public footpath sign just to the east of the roundabout. I wonder if the floodlights used during the construction are attracting owls to regularly hunt this stretch of the A27?
