Just heard about an interesting project, Birds and People. It’s a website gathering stories and discussions on the way that the lives of birds and people intersect all over the world, and will form part of the research for a book published by Random House.
The thing that makes this sound really promising is the involvement of Mark Cocker, principal author of Birds Britannica (which is, incidentally, a great Christmas present for anyone even mildly interested in birds). He’s an exceptional writer, particularly on birds and birdwatching. Quite frankly he could make a tax return sound good. So this should shape up to be something special.
