A spring-like afternoon, before the wet hit this evening.
The endless tag-team antics of the Long-tailed Tits were in evidence near the play-park, where a discontinuous chain of 19 birds were counted at one point.

Cuckoo at Glynde

No sooner has I moaned about it, a Cuckoo (the Cuckoo?)appeared over my head at Glynde Station this morning. Remind me to moan more often.
About the same time, a Little Egret flew over the village toward Glynde Levels, and Whitethroat, Long-tailed Tit and Swallow were all highly visible from the bridge.

Last week, a Firle resident reported Long-tailed Tits busy nest-building outside their house. It seems that the particularly warm February we’ve had has tempted quite a few early nesters – the RSPB has urged gardeners to watch where they trim.
