Good to hear from Paul that there were two Grey Partridges up near Bo Peep this weekend (flushed by a Hen Harrier, which in most circumstances would be the more notable sighting).
They’re the closest Greys to Firle that I am aware of – the next closest are reports just North of Seaford, on Lewes [...]

Had a nice surprise yesterday while driving between Glyndebourne and Ringmer – a Grey Partridge flying out in front of the car.

The best bit of the autumn, this. Migration action everywhere – Goldcrests and Chiffchaffs calling from many of the gardens (including the latter’s brief spells of song – an odd echo of spring, with pretty much only Robins bothering to hold territory at this time).
